Respect or Lashon Hara?

In the original Hebrew, the word for gossip is lashon hara, and it's more than just talking bad about someone. The implication is that you murder a person with your words when you participate in it. Even more, the original Hebrew implies equal sin in the hearing of the hurtful words as in the speaking of them. And when wives rip apart their husbands on Facebook or when talking to girlfriends, they take lashon hara a step further. This pastor brings it right out and shows what disrespect for your husband will do in your home and family. Hard word for the ladies, but it's truth. Make any excuse you want, but you will find absolutely no Scriptural support for slandering your husband.

My Valentine

Tonight, my husband came home with a bouquet of two dozen roses for me. They were beautiful, greenish white on the outside, and pale pink inside. He said, "Is it okay that they're a day early? I was afraid the stores would run out."

Of course!

A few minutes later he said they reminded him of the roses on our wedding night.

I do believe I am married to the sweetest man alive.

Marriage in Bloom

My sweet husband sent me three dozen roses on Friday for Valentine's Day. Thirty six tight blood-red buds. They were lovely. They're even prettier five days later, in full bloom.

We've seen twelve years come and go since we said our vows, and those years were filled with life. Beautiful, difficult, often mundane life that's complete because we're walking side-by-side through it. Like those tight rosebuds, when we first got married, things were exciting and new. But with each passing year, I can honestly say that life with my husband keeps getting better, like a rose slowly unfolding to reveal its full splendor through the course of a lifetime.

Thank you for sharing your life with me, Doug. I love you. And thank You, Lord, for an amazing husband who has given me a better understanding of Christ's love for his bride.

Parson Brown

My husband and I made a snowman yesterday for our two little ones, complete with a carrot nose, a flower pot hat (I thought the "Endless Summer" logo on the side of the pot was delightfully ironic), and pink toddler gloves on his stick hands. The kids found great joy in poking extra rocks and sticks into his base. He's easily the biggest, most cheerful snowman we've ever made. We were quite pleased with him, and still are, even though just one day later, he's listing to the side and has lost all of the rocks for his mouth, buttons, and one eye.

On a side note, snow balls that big are extremely heavy. And your strength fades to nothing when your husband makes you laugh while trying to lift said snow ball. After 11 years, I still love spending time with my husband. There's nobody I'd rather live my life with.
